Cleveland ISD has entered into a partnership with the American Red Cross that allows us to welcome families in need of shelter into our facilities. An agreement has been reached for one of the Pine Burr Elementary 10-classroom portable buildings to be used as a shelter for families in need.
We would like to emphasize that all shelter operations are entirely controlled and there will be no interruption to the normal school day for Pine Burr students. Students will have NO interaction with Red Cross guests. As always, safety is our number one priority.
We will have extra security officers stationed at the Pine Burr campus throughout the duration of shelter operations. Guests will be kept in an isolated location and all activity both inside and outside the shelter will be monitored. Guests will follow standard Red Cross rules and regulations during their stay at the shelter.
We are thrilled to be able to help provide assistance to those in need!

The CHS SkillsUSA Culinary Team will be holding a Junior Chef Camp from May 28-31!
Learn kitchen safety, how to use kitchen equipment, and how to cook a complete meal from scratch. Registration is $80 for 4 days of classes, lunches, and a t-shirt! More information can be found on the attached flyer, or by emailing Andi Pope at apope@clevelandisd.org.

CHS Families - Due to a loss of power, all after school activities at CHS have been canceled today, Tuesday, May 7th, 2024.
That's a wrap on today's amazingly successful emergency food distribution at Santa Fe Middle School! Cars started lining up around 8AM as food, water, and other supplies began arriving from our partners at the Houston Food Bank, Communities In Schools of East Texas, H-E-B, and much more!! We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that donated items for our families. We were able to provide assistance for over 1000 FAMILIES today! NO ONE was turned away!
Big Rivers Water Park also stopped by to let us know that ALL school district employees will receive free admission to the park this Saturday! Awesome!
Our campuses and Central Office building will continue to serve as donation centers throughout the week for anyone that is willing to donate items for our families in need.

Thank you to everyone that helped make this morning's emergency food drive a HUGE success! We were able to pass out 150 meals to families in need. It warms our hearts to see the community come together in times of need such as this.
