Business Department Mission
The Mission of the Cleveland Independent School District Business Office is to provide support to all District students, staff, parents, and the Cleveland Community and to ensure that all business operations are supportive of the instructional goals and objectives of the District.
The Business Office’s primary goal is to protect the assets of the district and to ensure that all financial transactions are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities
The Business Department is responsible for managing the District’s budget and investments and the daily transactions of the District including banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, employee payroll, and financial reporting. Cleveland Independent School District has an annual General Operating budget of approximately $110 million dollars. This money is used for teacher and employee salaries, instructional supplies and providing other services for students, school and facility maintenance, and various other expenditures. Additionally, bond funds are used for the construction and renovation of new schools and support facilities to ensure the educational needs of our students are met as well as providing a safe and secure environment for our students and employees.

Your local property tax database will be updated regularly during August and September as local elected officials propose and adopt the property tax rates that will determine how much you pay in property taxes.
Property owners may request from the county assessor-collector (or the person who assesses taxes) for the county in which the property is located, contact information for the assessor for each taxing unit which the property is located who must provide the information described to the owner on request.

Property taxes for the Cleveland Independent School District are collected by Liberty County. Property owners will receive one consolidated bill from Liberty County. Tax payments are not accepted at the Cleveland ISD Administration Building, but should be either mailed or taken to one of the Liberty County offices.
