Cleveland ISD is committed to transparency and providing access to public records in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act. To ensure district resources are used responsibly while maintaining open access to information, the district may assess charges for certain Public Information Requests.
As part of our commitment to fiscal responsibility and our district vision of moving Forward Together, these charges help cover the cost of staff time, materials, and operational expenses required to gather and produce requested records. This approach ensures that resources remain focused on supporting student achievement, instructional programs, and school facilities that serve our community.
Common Charges May Include:
• Standard paper copies: $0.10 per page
• Oversized copies (11" x 17"): $0.50 per page
• USB storage device: $3 each
Labor Charges May Apply When:
• Requests exceed 50 pages of standard copies
• Extensive time is required to locate, compile, or reproduce records
• Labor: $15 per hour
• Programming/Data manipulation: $28.50 per hour
• Overhead: 20% of applicable labor costs
Additional charges may apply for postage, shipping, remote document retrieval, or required supplies.
If the estimated cost of fulfilling a request exceeds $40, Cleveland ISD will provide a written estimate. Requests exceeding $100 may require a deposit before processing begins.
Community members may also choose to inspect records in person at district offices when appropriate.
If a requester believes they have been overcharged, they may file a complaint with the Texas Office of the Attorney General within 10 business days of becoming aware of the charge.

🔴 One Crew, One Direction: Students Shine, Records Are Broken, and CISD Celebrates Leadership
January Board Meeting Highlights
⭐ Student Leadership Took Center Stage
Cleveland ISD’s 9th Grade Center delivered a fully student-led presentation that showcased leadership, academics, and school culture. Students shared how “One Crew, One Direction” is more than a theme; it is how they live and learn every day.
“At C9, every student has a place on the crew.”
C9 Student Leader
From college readiness to clubs, athletics, and service, trustees were invited to experience learning through a fun Rubik’s Cube challenge that brought laughter and connection into the boardroom.
🎁 Junior ROTC Breaks Records with Community Impact
The Air Force Junior ROTC Christmas Toy Drive set a new district record, supporting 111 families and 485 children through student-led fundraising, shopping, wrapping, and delivery.
“It’s the smile that makes everything worth it at the end.”
AFJROTC Cadet Leader
Trustees applauded the cadets for demonstrating service, leadership, and compassion in action.
📊 Strong Financial Stewardship Confirmed
The district received a clean, unmodified audit opinion, with zero findings and all expenditures under budget.

Christa Walford, CPA
Cleveland ISD ended the year with a strong fund balance and no negative budget variances, reinforcing trust in fiscal responsibility.
👏 Board Appreciation and Unity
January was recognized as School Board Appreciation Month, honoring trustees for their time, leadership, and service.
“The foundation of public schools is having a good board who focuses on ensuring the work is done right.”

📣 TEA Special Education Funding Update: Share Your Voice
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is gathering input from families, educators, and community members to help shape a new special education funding model. Under House Bill 2 (HB 2), funding would be tied to the type and amount of services a student needs, rather than instructional setting.
TEA is seeking feedback through a short survey; responses will help inform service tiers and groups that guide the updated model.
✅ Take the survey here (deadline: February 5, 2026):

Thank you for partnering with us to support students and strengthen services across Texas.
