Cleveland ISD Announces New Campus Leadership
Cleveland ISD is proud to announce three exceptional campus principals who will lead Northside Elementary, Santa Fe Middle School, and Cleveland Middle School during the 2026-2027 school year. Each leader brings a wealth of experience, a passion for student success, and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
As Cleveland ISD continues moving Forward Together, we are excited to welcome these dedicated educational leaders into their new roles and look forward to the positive impact they will make across our district.
Sheryl Turner Named Principal of Northside Elementary
With more than 30 years of experience in public education, Mrs. Sheryl Turner has devoted her career to helping students achieve academic success and personal growth. Her experience spans North Forest ISD, Aldine ISD, and Houston ISD, where she served in a variety of teaching and leadership positions.
Mrs. Turner is passionate about creating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high expectations. She believes strong partnerships among students, staff, families, and the community are essential to building a successful learning environment.
"I am honored to serve the students and families of Northside Elementary and look forward to working together to ensure every child reaches their full potential," said Turner.
Susana Figueroa Named Principal of Santa Fe Middle School
Mrs. Susana Figueroa brings more than 25 years of experience in public education and a strong background in instructional leadership. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, dyslexia specialist, assistant principal, and principal.
Most recently, Mrs. Figueroa served as Assistant Principal at Lyons Elementary in Houston ISD. She is recognized for her commitment to student achievement, high-quality instruction, and meaningful relationships with students and families.
"I am excited to join the Santa Fe Middle School family and partner with our students, staff, and community to build a culture of excellence, growth, and opportunity for all," said Figueroa.
Mark Rodriguez Named Principal of Cleveland Middle School
A lifelong Cleveland resident and proud product of the community he serves, Mr. Mark Rodriguez has dedicated his entire 15-year educational career to Cleveland ISD students and families.
Mr. Rodriguez most recently served as Principal of Douglas Learning Academy, where he spent the last four years leading campus improvement efforts and supporting student achievement. With eight years of administrative experience, he is known for building meaningful relationships, maintaining high expectations, and fostering a positive school culture.
Mr. Rodriguez and his wife, Bobbie, a Cleveland ISD teacher, are proud parents of two children who attend Cleveland ISD schools.
"It is a privilege to continue serving the district and community that has given so much to my family. I look forward to leading Cleveland Middle School and building upon its tradition of excellence," said Rodriguez.
