Cleveland ISD is proud to announce that students from the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Aviation and Engineering programs have been selected to participate in the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Governance Camp, a highly respected leadership experience for top student leaders across Texas.

TASB Governance Camp is a competitive program designed to introduce students to the structure and responsibilities of school boards, public education leadership, and civic engagement. Participants are chosen based on academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their school communities.

During the camp, students engage in hands-on learning experiences that include mock board meetings, collaborative problem-solving, real-world policy discussions, and leadership development sessions. The program helps students build critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills that mirror the work of elected school board trustees.

For Cleveland ISD’s Aviation and Engineering students, this opportunity connects technical career pathways with leadership growth, preparing them not only for future careers in high-demand industries but also for roles as informed and engaged community leaders.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for our students and a testament to the strength of our CTE programs,” district leaders shared. “Being selected for TASB Governance Camp reflects their dedication, leadership potential, and commitment to excellence.”

Cleveland ISD congratulates these outstanding students for representing the district with pride and for continuing to move Forward Together through leadership, innovation, and service.
