Bobbie Rodriguez and her son stand with Principal Pete Armstrong and HR Director Rodrigo Cano after being honored by school board for National Board Certification

Mrs. Bobbie Rodriguez, teacher at Northside Elementary, was honored last night at the December school board meeting for the incredible achievement of getting her National Board Certification!

According to https://www.nbpts.org/, the National Board Certification is the "most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools." Mrs. Rodriguez holds the special honor of being Cleveland ISD's first teacher to attain this prestigious certification.

Rodrigo Cano, Executive Director of Human Resources for Cleveland ISD, says this certification is a "big deal."

"I used to work in the third-largest school district in the state of Texas, and while I was there, we only had one teacher with this certification in the entire district," says Cano.

Mrs. Rodriguez has been a part of Cleveland ISD for years extending beyond her professional career as a teacher, originally moving to Cleveland as a child and graduating from Cleveland High School.  It was here that she met her husband, Mark Rodriguez, who currently serves as Principal of Douglass Learning Academy.

Cleveland ISD is incredibly proud to have wonderful teachers like Mrs. Rodriguez making their mark and inspiring others every single day! Congratulations Mrs. Rodriguez!
