Employee Tuition-Based Pre-K Enrollment
The Tuition-Based Pre-Kindergarten program is open to Cleveland ISD employees whose children would otherwise be ineligible to attend free pre-kindergarten. The program is limited to district employees who are the parent or legal guardian of the child. There is no guarantee a tuition-based program will be available as it is based on the enrollment of eligible students, which varies from year to year.
The parent or guardian must provide transportation to and from the designated pre-kindergarten campus.
Cleveland employees’ children who do not meet pre-kindergarten eligibility requirements are not exempt from paying the tuition fees. Pre-K in the state of Texas is for qualifying students. Cleveland ISD does not receive funding for non-qualified students, so those students must pay tuition.
If you are interested in the program, please complete the pre-registration form by following this link, or by scanning the QR code below. The deadline to register for tuition-based pre-kindergarten is June 16th. Employees will be notified of acceptance on or before August 1, 2023. Admission decisions will be made via a lottery system if needed.
Once your child is assigned to a specific campus, you will receive an email confirming the placement and detailing the next steps.
Upon campus placement, the finance department will request that you complete and submit a payroll deduction form to be signed and returned.
Set up an appointment with the campus registrar to finalize your student’s registration and provide original required documentation.
The current 2023-2024 tuition rate for Pre-Kindergarten is $2,700.00 for the 10-month academic year.
- Tuition for this program is $150 per pay period to be paid on the 15th and 30th of each month via payroll deduction.
- The first deduction for employees participating for the 2023-2024 school year will be deducted from the employee's September 2023 paycheck. The last deduction will be in May 2024. A total of 18 payroll deductions.
- The only option to pay tuition is through payroll deduction.
Failure to pay within specified timelines or not to maintain sufficient base period wages for payroll deductions will result in the students' removal from the program. No bills or notices will be sent. Money orders or personal checks will be accepted for any late payments.
Employees should retain their pay stubs as proof of childcare claims for tax purposes.
