- #1 - New Middle School
- #2 - New CTE Building
- #3 - Convert Middle School to 9th and 10th Grade Center
- #4 - Southside Campus Improvements
- #5 - Douglass Campus Improvements
#1 - New Middle School
Justification
Demographic studies have consistently indicated pressure to construct a third Middle School. Current capacity at the Middle School level is 2,800 (Including Santa Fe Middle School) with current enrollment of approximately 3,000. With current enrollment at each existing Middle School exceeding their capacity limit, this project will provide for the near and distant future needs for growth in Middle School facilities. By the time of the planned opening, the Middle School grades will be between 4,023 and 4,695 per estimates. For cost effectiveness, parity across facilities, and design expediency, the Santa Fe Middle School plan is the basis for design.

Description
The new facility will serve up to 1,600 students in grades 6 through 8 and will be designated as CISD's third Middle School. It is intended to meet all current district standards for technology, supporting a full range of program needs similar to Santa Fe Middle School. This project involves an adaptive reuse of Santa Fe Middle School and will include athletic amenities such as track and football fields, along with support facilities, restrooms, concessions, and bleachers for 900 people. The planned location is on the district's existing property adjacent to the new Northside Elementary campus on FM 2025, where the district already owns and has partially developed the property.
#2 - New CTE Building
Justification
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the High School have grown significantly in enrollment and many programs exceed capacity. Several programs are in spaces that lack proper equipment and technology for instruction. Because the High School is not well suited to additions and expansions, this project will allow a new facility dedicated to CTE programs to be constructed and the current spaces used by CTE returned for traditional classroom uses. A new CTE center would allow instruction to be delivered in spaces reflective of the industry they serve, equip students for post-secondary education, and reinforce the existing academies on the campus.

Justification
The project will be required in conjunction with the New Middle School project. The project will include cosmetic branding upgrades in addition to building infrastructure improvements. Extend the educational use of the facility that will meet the current and future needs of the campus. Cleveland Middle School requires maintenance upgrades and replacement at several of its building systems. Constructed in 1972, safety and security needs for access control and intrusion systems are required. The campus houses several portables that will also need to retrofit for safety, and security.
