Parent(s),
I would like to thank you for all the support you have given us as well as your student! This year, so far, has been a success and hopefully we can continue on the right track! Remember to look for your student's Tuesday Folder with vital information from your student's teachers as well as from Eastside. Also, Mrs. Giles, Ms. Cochran and myself have an open door policy which we are willing to hear any questions, concerns or comments.
Thank you,
Miss Howell
Parent(s),
Welcome to the fourth grade! I ask that you take yourself back a few years...try to recall one or two fourth grade experiences of your own. The transition from third to fourth grade is a difficult one for most students. The curriculum challenges each student to take on added responsibilities for learning, encourages each student to engage in learning styles which may or may not be comfortable to them at first, and cultivates a deeper understanding and respect for the learning styles of others. Together we can make your child's fourth grade year a productive and satisfying experience. Homework is an example of one area of responsibility. Our daily homework practice is recorded in the homework planner each day. It is your child's responsibility to complete the work and return it to class the following school day. The planner also serves to notify you of any upcoming projects or events. There are many ways that I encourage you to take an active role in the fourth grade year such as:
. volunteer to come in and share your career or hobby with us
. volunteer to share a lunch period (1/2 hour) with the class
. volunteer to share a reading time with a student
I respect the importance of your presence and involvement in your child's academic and social development and would be happy to adjust our calendar to make it easy for you to visit!
