Seventh graders will take the STAAR Writing Test and the STAAR Reading Test this year. These tests are now timed at 4 hours per day. The rigor is higher, and the writing test involves multiple essays. 

My personal goal is to have every single one of my students pass these tests! More than that, I plan on having most of my students make "commended." With patience, hard work, and a great attitude, we can make this happen.  Please make sure your child comes to school each day.

Week of January 30- February 3, 2012

Synopsis- Students will read and analyze different types of poetry and identify figurative language in each. Students will practice STAAR test skills.

Vocabulary, spelling lists, and other powerpoints we do throughout each week will be posted in the resource section of the website.
